My name is Ashley and I came across your blog through Trish’s Another Piece of the Puzzle blog. My husband is currently researching ASD in children for his PhD in clinical psychology. I was wondering if you would be willing to fill out a short online survey to help with this research. If you are, we’d greatly appreciate your help and the survey can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ASDStudy
Please feel free to email me with any questions. Thanks for you help – hope you had a wonderful evening.

I have another conference for your list:
AutCom (Autism National Committee) Annual Conference 2011: Autism Without Limits
    October 21-22, 2011
    Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport
    2500 Hollywood Way
    Burbank, CA
    More information: http://www.autcom.org/conf2011/main.html
    Website: http://www.autcom.org

Join the Autism National Committee’s annual conference and experience a shared vision through positive approaches. This conference will offer:

-Analysis of key issues in autism from a human and civil rights perspective
-Networking opportunities with family members, professionals, and individuals with autism who are at the frontier of social change
-The AutCom Bookstore featuring the most progressive titles and authors in the field of ASD

We want this conference to be as comfortable as possible for people on the autism spectrum. All food events will include a gluten-free, casein-free option. There will be a quiet room with incandescent lighting.

Does anyone know of any scholarships for parents of children with special needs going back to school to work with children with special needs – or something related to that?

I am a mom with a daughter with autism going back to get my Master’s degree in Speech Pathology. The powers of early intervention and biomedical treatment pulled my daughter out of her “bubble of fog” and I want to help other parents do the same for their kids. I have seen first hand how early intervention can completely change a child with autism and it is my mission to make sure that others get the chance to see the same in their children. I knew that autism would change our lives – I just never imagined how much it would change me.

Any help in finding a scholarship to help me achieve my goal would be so greatly appreciated! Thanks for reading!
